Apex Global Solutions Data Breach Investigation

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Apex Global Solutions, LLC (“Apex Global”) regarding its recent data breach. The Apex Global data breach involved sensitive personal information and protected health information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

ABOUT APEX GLOBAL SOLTIONS, LLC:

Apex Global is an IT solutions provider based in New York. Founded in 2017 through the merger of Apex Healthcare and Global Healthcare Services, Apex Global specializes in back-office and IT solutions for skilled nursing and long-term care facilities.3,4 Today, Apex Global’s solutions include financial management, purchasing services, HR management, pharmacy cost management, revenue cycle management, and technology services.5 Headquartered in Montebello, New York, Apex Global has four additional locations and employs over 530 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Apex Global announced that the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on or around July 14, 2024, Apex Global discovered suspicious activity in its systems.1 As a result, Apex Global launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, Apex Global confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party between June 18, 2024, and July 2, 2024.1 As a result, Apex Global began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted, as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On March 17, 2025, Apex Global completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Adress
  • Date of birth
  • Driver’s license number
  • Financial account information
  • Medical information (e.g., diagnosis/condition, patient ID, treatment information, provider name)
  • Health insurance information
  • Claims information

 

As a result of the data breach, on April 28, 2025, Apex Global posted a notice of the incident on its website. Additionally, Apex Global recently began sending breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the website breach notice, Apex Global is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
