The Hartwell Data Breach Investigation

Headquartered in Idaho Falls, Idaho, Hartwell has two additional locations in Idaho and employs over 50 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On April 20, 2023, Hartwell discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Hartwell determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information through a Hartwell email account between March 20, 2023, and April 19, 2023. On January 3, 2024, Hartwell began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license number
  • Date of birth
  • Financial account information
