Founded in 1984, Amerlux produces a variety of interior and exterior architectural, specification-grade lighting solutions that include advanced lighting controls such as DALI, PoE and Bluetooth and new technologies such as tunable white lighting, occupancy dimming and continuous antimicrobial sanitation.2 Today, Amerlux provides some of the world’s most elegant solutions for modern commercial spaces, office buildings, and institutional environments.3 Headquartered in Oakland, New Jersey, Amerlux employs over 200 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Amerlux discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Amerlux determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information via a ransomware attack between March 7 and March 13, 2024. On April 22, 2024, Amerlux began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Address
- Passport number
- Bank account information
- Salary data
