Colorado River Adventures Data Breach Investigation

Recently, Colorado River Adventures reported to the Attorney General of California that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. According to the breach notice, on January 21, 2025, Colorado River Adventures was alerted to unusual activity involving its information technology environment.¹ As a result, Colorado River Adventures launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, Colorado River Adventures confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been compromised by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, Colorado River Adventures began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

• Name
• Social Security number
• Address
• Date of birth
• Financial account number (e.g., account number, credit or debit card number)

As a result of the data breach, Colorado River Adventures began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notices provided to California residents, Colorado River Adventures is providing affected individuals with a list of the information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring.
