WHAT HAPPENED?
On May 31, 2023, EY discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which personal identifiable information may have been accessed. Through its investigation, EY determined that an unauthorized party may have accessed this sensitive information through a vulnerability in MOVEit Transfer, a file sharing software used by EY, between May 27 and May 31, 2023. On August 9, 2023, EY began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Address
- Financial information (e.g., account information, debit or credit card numbers)
- Government issued ID numbers
