WHAT HAPPENED?
On May 20, 2023, UBP was informed that its vendor had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information belonging to UBP customers in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. On July 8, 2023, the vendor discovered that some of this sensitive information had been posted on the dark web. On June 7, 2024, UBP will begin notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number
- Bank account number
