WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Sequoia Federal Credit Union discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Sequoia Federal Credit Union determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information between July 13 and August 16, 2022. On December 24, 2022, Sequoia Federal Credit Union began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number
- Financial account information (e.g., taxpayer identification numbers, IRS PINs, credit or debit card information, etc.)
- Medical information
- Health insurance policy information
- Usernames and passwords
