Founded in 2005, A&D develops a range of testing solutions for mobility industries, including test automation, engine calibration, combustion analysis, emissions measurement, lab management systems, and more.2,3 Industries and applications that A&D provides services to include vehicle batteries, oil and gas, aerospace, locomotive, racing, power generators, and others.2 Headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan, A&D employs over 50 individuals and operates more than 1,000 installations worldwide.3,4
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, A&D reported to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, A&D learned of suspicious activity on certain systems in its environment.1 As a result, A&D launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, A&D confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party between November 24 and December 2, 2024. As a result, A&D began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On January 29, 2026, A&D completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
On March 16, 2026, A&D began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Massachusetts residents, A&D is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
