WPS is a staffing agency based in Tennessee. Founded in 1988, WPS provides clients and job seekers with staffing services across a range of industries, including industrial and warehouse staffing, office and administrative staffing, accounting management staffing, human resources management staffing, and more.2,3,4 Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee WPS employs over 50 individuals and operates additional location across Tennessee in Columbia, Gallatin, Lebanon, and Murfreesboro.2,3
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, WPS reported to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on September 12, 2025, WPS observed unusual activity on its computer network.1 As a result, WPS launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, WPS confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party on September 12, 2025. As a result, WPS began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:5
- Name
- Social Security number
- Financial account information
- Driver’s license information
On December 16, 2025, WPS began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Massachusetts residents, WPS is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
