As part of the Oschner LSU Health network, Regional Urology provides patients with a range of medical services related to urology, surgical treatment, kidney stone treatment, vasectomies, oncology and radiation treatment, diagnostic imaging, pharmaceuticals, and more.2 Headquartered in Shreveport, Louisiana, Regional Urology offers treatment to patients across the Arkansas-Louisiana-Texas area.2
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Regional Urology announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice shared on its website, on October 10, 2025, Regional Urology identified unusual activity affecting retired Regional Urology systems, which had not been in use since 2022.1 As a result, Regional Urology launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Regional Urology confirmed that sensitive personal information in its legacy systems may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party on or about October 5, 2025. As a result, Regional Urology began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Medical record number
- Information related to care at Regional Urology prior to December 31, 2022 (provider names, date of treatment, medical history, imaging or procedure information)
As a result of the breach, Regional Urology posted notice of the breach on its website. Additionally, on December 9, 2025, Regional Urology filed official notice of the data breach with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office for Civil Rights.3 Based on the website breach notice, Regional Urology is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
