The NS Support data breach involved sensitive personal information and protected health information belonging to over 92,000 individuals.

NS Support is a neuroscience organization based in Idaho. Today, NS Support provides a range of neurosurgical and spinal care services to patients, including treating traumatic brain injury, scoliosis, tumors, spinal injuries, aneurysms, and more.2 Headquartered in Boise, Idaho, NS Support employs over 10 individuals and operates three additional locations in Idaho.2,3,4,5
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, NS Support reported to the Attorney General of Idaho that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on or about May 29, 2025, NS Support detected a network security incident.1 As a result, NS Support launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, NS Support confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, NS Support began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Medical information in the form of notes transcribed by a physician during appointments
On November 21, 2025, NS Support began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Additionally, NS Support filed official notice of the data breach with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office for Civil Rights.6 Based on the breach notice sent to Idaho residents, NS Support is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
