Founded in 1992, Volume provides a range of trucking transportation services, including regional and local trucking, over-the-road trucking, transloading services, shuttle services, on-site fleet management, and more.2,3,4 Major industry sectors serviced by Volume include the food supply chain, retail, automotive industries, etc.4 Headquartered in Conyers, Georgia, Volume employs over 200 individuals and operates a fleet of approximately 180 tractors and over 600 trailers to provide service across 48 U.S. states.3
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Volume reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on August 19, 2025, Volume experienced a network disruption.1 As a result, Volume launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Volume confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, Volume began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number
On December 8, 2025, Volume began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Maine residents, Volume is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
