BCGL Data Breach Investigation

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating BCGL, LLC regarding its recent data breach. The BCGL data breach involved sensitive personal information belonging to over 2,200 individuals.

ABOUT BCGL, LLC:

BCGL is a law firm based in Pennsylvania. Founded in 2012, BCGL provides legal services to clients across a range of practice areas, including litigation, financial law, estate planning, real estate law, business and corporate law, labor and employment law, and more.2,3 Headquartered in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, BCGL employs over 25 individuals.3,4

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, BCGL reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, BCGL identified suspicious activity in its network.1 As a result, BCGL launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, BCGL confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been [accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, BCGL began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license number

 

On December 8, 2025, BCGL began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Maine residents, BCGL is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
