WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Barrantys reported to the Attorney General of New Hampshire that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on or about October 7, 2025, Barrantys became aware of potential unauthorized activity within a single mailbox.1 As a result, Barrantys launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Barrantys confirmed that sensitive personal information in the emails may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party between July 22 and October 8, 2025. As a result, Barrantys began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On November 6, 2025, Barrantys completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:1,5

- Social Security number
- Government-issued identification number
- Financial account information
On December 5, 2025, Barrantys began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Additionally, Barrantys posted notice of the breach on its website. Based on the breach notice sent to New Hampshire residents, Barrantys is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
