WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Bosch discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. On October 31, 2025, Bosch filed official notice of the data breach with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office for Civil Rights.1 Though much information is still not known about the Bosch breach, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ reporting guidelines require entities to report data breaches when they involve protected health information. Therefore, it is likely that the Bosch breach included the protected health information belonging to over 50,000 individuals. As a result of the data breach, Bosch may soon begin notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted.
