WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Fujifilm reported to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. In the sample breach notice provided to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Fujifilm does not elaborate on the nature of the security incident that impacted its systems. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Address
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license number
- Government issued ID number (e.g., passport, state ID card)
- Health insurance information
As a result of the data breach, Fujifilm began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Massachusetts residents, Fujifim is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
