NJ Lenders, which was integrated into the Luminate Bank brand, is a mortgage banker based in New Jersey. Founded in 1991, NJ Lenders offers various specialties such as mortgages, refinance transactions, and real estate purchase transactions.2 Headquartered in Little Falls, New Jersey, NJ Lenders employs over 50 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, NJ Lenders announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on August 18, 2025, NJ Lenders experienced a data security incident, where an unauthorized party accessed certain systems in its network environment.1 As a result, NJ Lenders launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, on September 12, 2025, NJ Lenders confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, NJ Lenders began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
On October 10, 2025, NJ Lenders began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice, NJ Lenders is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
