WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Aunt Martha’s announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, On August 13, 2025, Aunt Martha’s detected suspicious activity within its network.1 As a result, Aunt Martha’s launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Aunt Martha’s confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party on August 12, 2025. As a result, Aunt Martha’s began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Address
- Date of birth
- Medical information (provider or facility name, medical condition, diagnosis and/or treatment information, lab results, prescriptions and/or medications, personal history, and mental health information)
- Health insurance information
- Insurance/payment amount history information
- Date of service
- Driver’s license or state identification number
- Any information on an individual that was created, used, or disclosed in the course of providing health care services
