Founded in 1960, MyCardiologist provides a range of cardiovascular care services, including preventative care and screenings, diagnostic tests, noninvasive cardiovascular imaging, and invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.2,3,4 Areas of expertise for MyCardiologist include interventional cardiology, structural cardiology, electrophysiology, peripheral venous and arterial disease, and heart failure.4 Headquartered in South Miami, Florida, MyCardiologist employs over 50 individuals and offers services across approximately ten locations in Florida.2,3
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, MyCardiologist reported to the Attorney General of New Hampshire that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on June 12, 2025, MyCardiologist became aware of suspicious activity within its email environment.1 As a result, MyCardiologist launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, MyCardiologist confirmed that the sensitive personal information and protected health information in its email environment may have been accessed and/or acquired by an unauthorized third party between May 30 and June 12, 2025.1 As a result, MyCardiologist began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On or around September 9, 2025, MyCardiologist completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Mailing address
- Clinical information
- Date of birth
- Medical diagnosis information
- Medicare number
- Provider location
- Provider name
On October 7, 2025, MyCardiologist began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice being sent to New Hampshire residents, MyCardiologist is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.1 A link to the letters that MyCardiologist filed with the Attorney General of New Hampshire is below.
