Recently, The Job Shop reported to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on August 14, 2025, The Job Shop’s IT Vendor informed The Job Shop that it experienced a security indicent.1 As a result, the Vendor launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, the Vendor confirmed with The Job Shop that the sensitive personal information in The Job Shop’s remote desktop server managed by the Vendor may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party around mid-June 2025.1 As a result, The Job Shop began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name

As a result of the breach, The Job Shop began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice being sent to Massachusetts, The Job Shop is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.1 A link to the letters that The Job Shop filed with the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is below.
