Emergency Responders Health Center Data Breach Investigation

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Emergency Responders Health Center (“ERHC”) regarding its recent data breach. The ERHC data breach may have involved sensitive personal identifiable information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

ABOUT EMERGENCY RESPONDERS HEALTH CENTER:

ERHC is a health center based in Idaho. Founded in 2004, ERHC provides health services that address the unique medical concerns and elevated health risks of first responders such as firefighters, police officers, EMS/EMT, and other emergency response personnel.3 In addition to a laboratory, digital x-ray suite, and physical therapy studio that provide diagnostic results, ERHC offers a range of treatment services, including primary care, immunizations, urgent care, pediatric health, and more. 3,4 Headquartered in Boise, Idaho, ERHC employs over 20 individuals.2,3

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, ERHC reported to the Attorney General of Montana that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on April 11, 2025, ERHC detected unusual activity in one of its email accounts.1 As a result, ERHC launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, ERHC confirmed that the sensitive personal information in several of its email accounts may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party between December 11, 2024, and April 11, 2025.1 As a result, ERHC began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. As of September 29, 2025, the type of information impacted in the breach has not been made publicly available by ERHC.¹ However, according to Montana state reporting guidelines, “personal information” can include the following types of information:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license number, state identification number, or tribal identification number
  • Account number or credit or debit card number, in combination with any required security code, access code, or password that would permit access to an individual’s financial account
  • Medical record information
  • Taxpayer identification number
  • An identity protection personal identification number issued by the United States internal revenue service

 

On September 26, 2025, ERHC began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Additionally, ERHC posted notice of the data breach to its website. 5 Based on the breach notice being sent to Montana residents, ERHC is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services. 1 A link to the letters that ERHC filed with the Attorney General of Montana is below.
