WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, it was reported by an online source that AJT Compliance, LLC had experienced a cybersecurity incident impacting the privacy of its data. According to this source, a cybersecurity research team learned of an unsecured database that contained records belonging to AJT Compliance.1 The exposed database was an Amazon S3 bucket holding data from 2022 to the present, with new sensitive documents actively being uploaded during the investigation.1 Information that was visible included over 18,000 Social Security cards, over 23,000 drivers’ licenses, Liability Insurance and vehicle insurance cards, drug tests, employment contracts and consent forms, background check consent forms, and vehicle inspection results.1 Noting that a majority of the documents pertained to Texas residents, the cybersecurity researchers estimate that the leak could potentially affect 10% of Texas’ truck drivers.1
According to the source, the researcher notified AJT Compliance of the exposure and AJT Compliance confirmed that Amazon S3 storage containers used for its testing system had been inadvertently configured with public read and list permissions.1 After the responsible disclosure, the data has been secured.1 As of September 26, 2025, AJT Compliance has not otherwise acknowledged the data exposure or confirmed whether the incident resulted in a data breach.
