According to the breach notice, on August 23, 2025, Miljödata, a company that provides human resources software to Volvo Group NA, learned that it was the victim of a ransomware attack.1 As a result, Miljödata launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number

As a result of the breach, Volvo Group NA began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals.
