Operating for over 46 years, Outcomes provides a range of pharmacy software solutions, including prescription processing, integrated POS, remote counseling, cloud-based telepharmacy platforms, interactive voice response, patient communication channels, and more.2,3 Headquartered in Orlando, Florida, Outcomes employs over 500 individuals and provides services to a network of over 48,000 pharmacies.2,3
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Outcomes reported to the Attorney General of California that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, Outcomes recently experienced an email phishing incident related to an employee email account.1 As a result, Outcomes launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Outcomes confirmed that the sensitive personal information and protected health information in the affected employee email account may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party on July 1, 2025.1 As a result, Outcomes began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Demographic information
- Medical provider name
- Health insurance information
- Medication information
As a result of the breach, Outcomes began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice being sent to California residents, Outcomes is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted. 1 A link to the letters that Outcomes filed with the Attorney General of California is below.
