Hello Cake Data Breach Investigation

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Hello Cake, Inc. regarding its recent data breach. The Hello Cake data breach may have involved sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

ABOUT HELLO CAKE, INC.:

Hello Cake is a sexual wellness products company based in California. Founded in 2018, Hello Cake creates a range of sexual wellness products for individuals and couples, including medication and supplements, protection, toys, etc.2,3 As part of their services, certain prescription orders from Hello Cake require a telehealth consultation with a physician provided by its partner, M&D Integrations, Inc. (“MDI”).1 Headquartered in Los Angeles, California, Hello Cake employs over 10 individuals.3

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Hello Cake reported to the Attorney General of California that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, Hello Cake identified a potential security issue involving a file stored in its cloud-based storage systems that temporarily had an incorrect access setting.1 This file was related to prescription order information Hello Cake shared with MDI as part of the consultation and prescription fulfillment process with MDI. 1 As a result, Hello Cake launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, Hello Cake confirmed that the sensitive personal information and protected health information in this file may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party on or about July 25, 2025.1 As a result, Hello Cake began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Date of birth
  • Prescription information

On September 19, 2025, Hello Cake began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice being sent to California residents, Hello Cake is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services. 1 A link to the letters that Hello Cake filed with the Attorney General of California is below.
