Founded in 1963, TPSC specializes in providing health benefit plans for corporate employers.1,3 Services offered by TPSC include self-funded health plan administration, enrollment expertise, integrated health reimbursement accounts (HRA) and flexible spending accounts (FSA), etc.2 Headquartered in Tacoma, Washington, TPSC employs over 50 individuals and services clients in the Pacific Northwest region.3
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, TPSC reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on December 26, 2024, TPSC detected unusual activity within its computer environment.1 As a result, TPSC launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, TPSC confirmed that the sensitive personal information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party during the breach.1 As a result, TPSC began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On August 7, 2025, TPSC completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Health information
On September 15, 2025, TPSC began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice being sent to Maine residents, TPSC is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services. 1 A link to the letters that TPSC filed with the Attorney General of Maine is below.
