Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Print Media Association (“PMA”) regarding its recent data breach. The PMA data breach may have involved sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

PMA is a printing and graphic communications trade association based in Missouri.3 Founded in 1906, PMA offers members a range of benefits, including a 401k program, business and personal insurance, business valuation, human resource services, training and education, office supply and software discounts, and more.4,5 Headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, PMA members are also included in the membership of the Printing Industries of America (PIA) and the AAIM Management Association.3
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, PMA reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its emails may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, May 5, 2025, PMA became aware of suspicious activity in its email environment.1 As a result, PMA launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, PMA confirmed that the sensitive personal information and protected health information in its emails may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party between May 1 and May 5, 2025.1 As a result, PMA began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On August 11, 2025, PMA completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes: 6
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number
- Government-issued ID number (passport, state ID card)
- Financial account information (account number, credit or debit card number)
- Medical information
- Health insurance information
On September 10, 2025, PMA began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice being sent to Maine residents, PMA is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services. 1 A link to breach notification letters that PMA filed with the Attorney General of Maine is below.
