WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Lang Management reported to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, Lang Management became aware that an unauthorized third party was able to access an employee’s email account.1 As a result, Lang Management launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Lang Management confirmed that the sensitive personal information in its emails may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party between September 9 and September 16, 2024.1 As a result, Lang Management began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On August 21, 2025, Lang Management completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number
- Passport number
On August 29, 2025, Lang Management began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals.
