WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, it was reported by online sources that Bridgestone had experienced a cyberattack that impacted the operation of some of its manufacturing facilities in North America.1 According to these sources, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, reports surfaced about a cybersecurity incident impacting two of Bridgestone’s production facilities in Aiken County, South Carolina.1 The next day, Canadian media outlets reported similar disruptions at Bridgestone’s manufacturing facility in Joliette, Quebec.1 In a statement to news outlets, Bridgestone confirmed the cyber incident saying, “Bridgestone Americas continues to investigate a limited cyber incident impacting some of our manufacturing facilities.”1 However, as of September 8, 2025, Bridgestone has not publicly disclosed the specific nature of the cybersecurity incident or confirmed whether the incident resulted in a data breach.
