Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating The LoveSac Company (“LoveSac”) regarding its recent data breach. The LoveSac data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.
ABOUT THE LOVESAC COMPANY:
LoveSac is a furniture manufacturing company based in Connecticut. Founded in 1998, LoveSac makes and sells changeable and washable sectionals, couches, chairs, and sacs. 2 Additionally, LoveSac offers accessories for its products, such as drink holders and trays, throw pillows, FootSac blankets, and chair frames.2 Headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, LoveSac employs over 500 individuals and has showrooms across the country.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, LoveSac reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on May 30, 2025, LoveSac discovered suspicious activity in its email environment.1 As a result, LoveSac launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, LoveSac confirmed that sensitive personal information in one employee email account may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party between May 27 and May 30, 2025. As a result, LoveSac began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
On September 4, 2025, LoveSac began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Maine residents, LoveSac is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
