BCC is a private country club based in Maryland. Founded in 1898, BCC offers its members facilities and hospitality services for social, golf, and recreational activities, as well as rental opportunities for weddings and events.3,2 Headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, BCC employs over 200 individuals.3
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, BCC reported to the Attorney General of New Hampshire that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on February 1, 2025, BCC discovered that it had experienced a network disruption.1 As a result, BCC launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, BCC confirmed that sensitive personal information of BCC may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, BCC began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On July 10, 2025, BCC completed this review. As of September 3, 2025, the type of information impacted in the breach has not been made publicly available by BCC.¹ However, according to New Hampshire state reporting guidelines, “personal information” can include the following types of information:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number or other government identification number
- Account number, credit card number, or debit card number in combination with any required security code, access code, or password that would permit access to an individual’s financial account
On August 26, 2025, BCC began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to New Hampshire residents, BCC is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.1 A link to the breach notice that BCC filed with the Attorney General of New Hampshire is below.
