Founded 1966, Pocono Farms consists of over twenty miles of township roads, with an additional eight miles of roads in community-owned cul-de-sacs, encompassing over 1,430 homes.3 Additionally, Pocono Farms’ amenities include an Olympic-size swimming pool, a lake for fishing and swimming, tennis courts, basketball courts, a fitness center, and a golf course. Headquartered in Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, Pocono Farms employs over 20 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Pocono Farms announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been accessed. According to notices posted by Pocono Farms, on August 18, 2025, Pocono Farms’ property management system was compromised.1 As a result, Pocono Farms launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Pocono Farms confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been compromised by an unauthorized third party during the breach.2 While the investigation is ongoing, and Pocono Farms’ review of the impacted information is not yet complete, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Home address
- Driver’s license numbers
On August 18, 2025, Pocono Farms began posting about the incident on its Facebook page and has begun alerting its membership that there was a breach. A link to the notifications that Pocono Farms posted to its Facebook are below.
