WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Rafael Vinoly Architects reported to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on or around April 12, 2024, an unauthorized party acquired a limited number of electronic files from Rafael Vinoly Architects’ computer systems. 1 As a result, Rafael Vinoly Architects launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, on June 6, 2025, Rafael Vinoly Architects confirmed that sensitive personal information within these systems may have been compromised by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, Rafael Vinoly Architects began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number
- Financial account number
- Medical records
