WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Beech Acres announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on November 23, 2024, Beech Acres learned of unusual activity within its network.1 As a result, Beech Acres launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Beech Acres confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, Beech Acres began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license number
- Financial account numbers, such as bank account and routing numbers
- Health insurance information
- Medical or treatment information
As a result of the breach, on August 22, 2025, Beech Acres posted notice to their website and began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice posted to their website, Beech Acres is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.1 A link to the website breach notice is below.
