WHAT HAPPENED?
On August 21, 2025, the Houston Symphony reported to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised.¹ In the sample breach notice, the Houston Symphony does not elaborate on the nature of the security incident that impacted its systems. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
As a result of the data breach, on August 19, 2025, the Houston Symphony began providing notice to impacted individuals.
