WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Brightpoint posted that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on June 16, 2025, Brightpoint became aware of unauthorized access to certain personal and protected health information in employee email accounts between January 12 and February 27, 2025.1
As a result, Brightpoint began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Financial account information
- Medical record
- Medical insurance information
- Driver’s license and/or other government-issued identification number
In addition to posting notice on its website, Brightpoint is mailing notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the notice, Brightpoint is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted.1 A link to the notice posted to Brightpoint’s website is below.
