WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Ratio discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed.1 According to the breach notice, on October 6, 2024, Ratio became aware of technical issues related to its network.1 As a result, Ratio launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, on or about May 23, 2025, Ratio determined personally identifiable information in its network may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party during the breach.1 As a result, Ratio began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number or state identification number
- Date of birth
- Government identification number
- Financial account information (account type, password, pin, or access code)
As a result, Ratio posted notice of the incident on its website. Based on the breach notice, Ratio is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
