WHAT HAPPENED?
On August 11, 2025, Integrated Orthopedics announced that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised.1 According to the breach notice, on April 7, 2025, Integrated Orthopedics became aware of suspicious activity in its email tenant. 1 As such, Integrated Orthopedics launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Integrated Orthopedics determined that some emails may have been copied without authorization to an unauthorized third party during the breach. 1 As a result, Integrated Orthopedics began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. This review was completed on June 19, 2025. According to the breach notice, the sensitive personal information potentially affected includes the following types of information:
- Name
- Social Security Number
- Date of birth
- Address
- Medical record number
- Patient ID or account number
- Medicare or Medicaid number
- Health insurance information (ID number or group number)
- Medical information (diagnosis, treatment information/location/dates, doctor name, lab or test results)
- Driver’s license number
