WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Old Dutch Foods reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, in late 2024 Old Dutch Foods discovered suspicious activity on its system.1 As a result, Old Dutch Foods launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Old Dutch Foods confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party between October 16 and October 17, 2024. As a result, Old Dutch Foods began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On June 9, 2025, Old Dutch Foods completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number
- Financial account information
On August 11, 2025, Old Dutch Foods began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Maine residents, Old Dutch Foods is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
