WHAT HAPPENED?
On August 12, 2025, Daniels Law Group reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised.1 According to the breach notice, Daniels Law Group recently became aware of unauthorized access to its servers.1 As a result, Daniels Law Group launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Daniels Law Group determined that certain files within its file servers may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party on or before July 1, 2025.1 As a result, Daniels Law Group began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On July 9, 2025, Daniels Law Group completed its investigation. According to the breach notice, the sensitive personal information potentially affected includes the following types of information:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number
- Financial account numbers
- Medical records
Recently, Daniels Law Group began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals.
