According to the press release, in March 2025, Genoa learned of unusual activity involving one employee email account.1 As a result, Genoa launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident, which concluded on July 8, 2025.

Through its investigation, Genoa confirmed that sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been involved in the incident.1 While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Financial account information
  • Medical treatment or diagnosis information
  • Health insurance information

 

As a result of the data breach, Genoa posted a notice of the incident in a press report linked below.
