Founded in 1971, TIMEC has worked across all major work scopes, including on FCC, Hydrocrackers, Hydrogen Plants, Alkylation units, Cokers, Crude units, Reformers, and Sulphur units.2,3 Headquartered in Pasadena, Texas, TIMEC also has seven additional locations in Rancho Dominguez, California, Benicia, California, Salt Lake City, Utah, Beaumont, Texas, Buffalo, Missouri, Bakersfield, California, and Dickinson, North Dakota.4
WHAT HAPPENED?
On July 30, 2025, TIMEC reported to the Attorney General of California that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on or around April 8, 2025, TIMEC became aware that some employees’ direct deposit information was changed to reflect incorrect bank account information. 1 As a result, TIMEC launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, TIMEC identified that an unauthorized party gained access to TIMEC’s ERP software and accessed personal information related to employees between April 7 and April 10, 2025.1 As a result, TIMEC began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Financial account information
On July 30, 2025, TIMEC began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to California residents, TIMEC is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
