WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Pond North announced that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised.1 According to the breach notice posted on its website, between December 7, 2023, and February 2, 2024, Pond North discovered that an unauthorized individual may have obtained access to an employee email account.1 As a result, Pond North launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Pond North confirmed that sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party. 1 As a result, Pond North began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On July 1, 2025, Pond North concluded its investigation. According to the breach notice, the sensitive personal information potentially affected includes the following types of information:
- Name
- Social Security Number
- Address
- Financial account information
As a result of the data breach, Pond North began providing notice to impacted individuals.
