Founded in 1967, McKenzie provides comprehensive services in areas such as audiology, cardiology, diabetology, ear, nose, and throat, gastroenterology, internal medicine, orthopedics, pediatrics, rehabilitation, and substance abuse programs.2 Headquartered in Sandusky, Michigan, McKenzie employs over 200 individuals.3
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, McKenzie reported to the Attorney General of New Hampshire that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on or around April 15, 2025, McKenzie became aware of unusual activity on its network.1 As a result, McKenzie launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, McKenzie determined that limited information maintained on its network may have been accessed by an unauthorized actor between April 14 and April 15, 2025.1 As a result, McKenzie began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On June 19, 2025, McKenzie concluded its investigation. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Financial account information
On July 24, 2025, McKenzie began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to New Hampshire residents, McKenzie is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
