WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Naper Grove Vision Care posted a notice on its website of a data security incident. According to the notice, on May 24, 2025, Naper Grove Vision Care identified unusual network activity.1 As a result, Naper Grove Vision Care launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Naper Grove Vision Care confirmed that sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party. 1 As a result, Naper Grove Vision Care began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. According to the breach notice, the sensitive personal information potentially affected includes the following types of information:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Address
- Dates of birth
- Driver’s license number
- Patient number
- Health insurance numbers and explanation of benefits documentation
- Medical condition or treatment information
