iBUYPOWER and HYTE Data Security Investigation

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating iBUYPOWER and its sister brand, HYTE (collectively, “iBUYPOWER”), regarding a potential data security incident. iBUYPOWER is a computer hardware company based in California. Today, iBUYPOWER builds custom PCs and gaming systems for professional gamers, game developers, LAN centers, major esports tournaments, and everyday consumers.2 Since its inception in 1999, iBUYPOWER has worked closely with brands such as Intel, NVIDIA, AMD, Microsoft, Western Digital, Asus, Bethesda, MLG, and more.2 Headquartered in City of Industry, California, iBUYPOWER employs over 200 individuals. Its sister company, HYTE, manufactures PC accessories and hardware such as PC cases, case fans, desk pads, keyboards, and more.3 Founded in 2021, HYTE is headquartered in Los Angeles, California.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On June 24, 2025, iBUYPOWER announced on its Instagram page that it had experienced a network security incident on the morning of June 21, 2025, which resulted in an outage of several internal systems, including phone lines, ERP, production, accounting, RMA, and customer service.1 As a result, iBUYPOWER launched an investigation and contacted law enforcement agencies.1 As of July 23, 2025, iBUYPOWER has not commented on nor confirmed whether it has suffered a data breach.
