WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, With Intelligence reported to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the sample breach notice, on June 28, 2025, PeopleCheck, a third-party supplier conducting background checks and employee screening on With Intelligence’s behalf, became aware of a security incident in which candidates’ personal data stored and processed by PeopleCheck was accessed by threat actors using compromised login credentials.1 As a result, PeopleCheck launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
On July 11, 2025, PeopleCheck confirmed that data processed on With Intelligence’s behalf was impacted during the incident and identified the individuals and data impacted. 1 According to the breach notice, the sensitive personal information potentially affected includes the following types of information:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Internal reference name
- Date of birth
- Phone number
- Birth city
- Gender
- Mother name
- Share code
As a result of the data breach, With Intelligence began providing notice to impacted individuals. Based on the notice sent to Massachusetts residents, With Intelligence is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 24-months of complimentary credit monitoring services.1 A link to the breach report filed by the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is below.
