WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, DS+R reported to the Attorney General of Vermont that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on February 9, 2025, DS+R experienced a network disruption. 1 As a result, DS+R launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, DS+R confirmed that sensitive information of current or former employees, dependents of employees, and contractors or consultants in its systems was acquired on or about February 8, 2025.1 As a result, DS+R began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. The investigation by DS+R concluded on July 11, 2025. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license or state ID
- Financial account number
- Credit or debit card number and credit card expiration date or CVV code
- Health insurance information
On July 16, 2025, DS+R began providing notice to impacted individuals. Based on the notice sent to Vermont residents, DS+R is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
