Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating BMW Financial Services NA, LLC (including its affiliates BMW Bank of North America and Financial Services Financial Trust) (collectively “BMW FS”) regarding its recent data breach. The BMW FS data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information belonging to over 1,900 individuals.

BMW FS is an automotive financial services company based in New Jersey. Established in 1993, BMW FS provides services including retail and commercial financing, lease programs, insurance and protection products, and customer account support across the United States for BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce brands.2 Headquartered in Woodcliff, New Jersey, BMW FS employs over 400 individuals.3
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, AIS InfoSource LP (“AIS”) reported to the Attorney General of Maine that the sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised on behalf of BMW FS. According to the breach notice, AIS identified suspicious activity within its network.1 As a result, AIS launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, AIS confirmed unauthorized activity in its systems between February 16, and February 21, 2025.1 As a result, AIS began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted, as well as identify the specific individuals affected. This review concluded on June 13, 2025. The type of information potentially exposed has not yet been disclosed by BMW FS.
On July 2, 2025, AIS began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Maine residents, AIS is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
