Founded in 1992, Homeyer specializes in HVAC and process related waters, offering a range of services including audits, water analysis, biological testing, deposit analysis, expert witness testimony, sprinkler analysis, Legionella testing, and inspection services, such as borescope inspections and ultrasonic pipe testing.2 Consulting to over 3,500 sites worldwide, Homeyer provides services to clients in a range of markets, including universities, data centers, hospitals, government facilities, banks, plastics plants, pharmaceutical plants, property management firms, casinos, food processing plants, and more.2 Headquartered in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, Homeyer employs over 70 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Homeyer reported to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. In the sample breach notice, Homeyer does not elaborate on the nature of the security incident that impacted its systems. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number
- Financial account information
As a result of the data breach, on May 30, 2025, Homeyer began providing notice to impacted individuals. Based on the notice sent to Massachusetts residents, Homeyer is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
